Ho perplessità sulla tua affermazione: "a chi si deve l'idea di quel film? Isaac Asimov!"
Sei sicuro? Mi risulta che il buon Isaac fece poi la novelization del film, NON il soggetto originale. Forse però ricordo male, suppongo che tu abbia approfondito.

Ho approfondito, ma si può essere ancora più precisi. Sarollo.
"Isaac Asimov was approached to write the novel from the script. He perused the script, and declared the script to be full of plot holes. Receiving permission to write the book the way he wanted, delays in filming and the speed at which he wrote saw the book appear before the film."
